Soccer Adds Standish
On February 20th, Mia Standish committed to the Genesee Women's Soccer team for the 2026 season. Mia is a 5'5" outside defender who started 2 years for the Albion Varsity girls' soccer team. She has been awarded Honorable Mention All-League for soccer and MIP one year and another year MVP for track. She plays for the Albion Club Soccer Team as well as on for her school's Varsity Basketball, Wrestling, and Track teams and dances too. She also is active in her community and is on High Honor Roll. Standish plans to major in Health Studies while attending GCC to pursue a career as a Dental Hygienist.
Mia will be joining her high school teammate McKinley here at GCC. "We have had great success in the past recruiting from Albion and we are excited to have these girls for the upcoming season," stated Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt. Lexi Wolck was on the team her freshmen and sophomore year in 2023 and 2024. She was an incredibly hard worker and an integral part of the women's soccer team, as well as the basketball and softball teams. She was awarded All-Conference for soccer and basketball and was a captain for both sports during her time here, and then received the Female Athlete of the Year Award for all of Genesee Athletics her sophomore year.
Jeff and Assistant Coach Macy have been meeting with a lot of recruits and have some more commitments coming up. The Cougars ended their 2025 season in the National Tournament with a 13-4-2 record, where they ended up 4th in the country overall.
