Women's Soccer add's Knight to 2026 Roster
On February 15th, McKinley Knight committed to the Genesee Women's Soccer team for the 2026 season. McKinley is a 5'4" outside midfielder who started 3 years for the Albion Varsity girls' soccer team. Knight recorded 3 career goals and 10 career assists. She is a Scholar Athlete and was awarded Athlete in the Spotlight as well. She plays for the Albion Club Soccer Team as well as on for her school's Varsity softball team and dances too. She also works with youth soccer camps in her free time. McKinley plans to major in Nursing while attending GCC.
McKinley will be following in her older sister's footsteps, who is also a GCC student and plays for the women's basketball team. "Although McKinley's older sister does not play soccer here, it's always nice to recruit siblings. Not only will she have a support system in us, but we know she has her sister with her as well and that's a special kind of bond," stated Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt. McKinley's older sister, Julia, has appeared in 21 games this basketball season recording 52 points, 7 assists, and 82 rebounds so far. A couple years back, the Cougars had Beatriz Sartorato on their team and her twin sister, Emanuelle, played on the volleyball team. "We love a sister duo! We basically had adopted Bea's twin sister, Manu, as our honorary soccer player. We loved that they had one another throughout this experience and we were able to see firsthand how they supported one another", said Jeff.
Jeff and Assistant Coach Macy have been meeting with a lot of recruits and have some more commitments coming up. The Cougars ended their 2025 season in the National Tournament with a 13-4-2 record, where they ended up 4th in the country overall.
