Soccer adds Goff
On January 22nd, Ava Goff committed to the Genesee Women's Soccer team for the 2026 season. Ava is a 5'6" outside defender who started 3 years for the Byron-Bergen Varsity girls' soccer team. Goff is a Tri-Varsity Award recipient, three-time Sectional Champion, two-time Regional Champion, and a State Champion in 2024. She plays for the Churchville Cheetahs and Genesee United Club Soccer Teams as well as playing basketball and track for her school. Ava has received the Youth Recognition Award and plans to major in Sports Management while attending GCC.
Ava will be joining the team with a few of her past teammates, Natalie Prinzi and Ava Gray, as well as Libby and Emma Starowitz. "We love recruiting from Byron-Bergen because the girls always have a winning attitude and will fight until the bitter end for a championship," stated Head Coach Jeff Reyngoudt. Natalie was awarded All-Region and Regional Tournament MVP, while Grey was All-Conference, All-Region, and All-Tournament team in Regionals and Nationals this past season. Emma played for the cougars in the fall of 2024 and has decided to come back for the 2026 season to play with her sister. Libby committed to the Cougars a few weeks prior and will get the chance to play with Goff, her current BB teammate, for another couple seasons.
Jeff and Assistant Coach Macy have been meeting with a lot of recruits and have some more commitments coming up. The Cougars ended their 2025 season in the National Tournament with a 13-4-2 record, where they ended up 4th in the country overall.
