BATAVIA, NY… The Genesee Community College women's soccer team won 1-0 over the Jefferson CC Cannoneers Sunday afternoon in the NJCAA Region III North B District Championship game. With the victory, Genesee has punched their ticket to the 2025 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championships.
After a scoreless first half that saw Genesee apply the pressure to Jefferson, Piper Hyde got Genesee on the board with seven minutes remaining in regulation time. Samantha Bates got the assist on Hyde's goal. Natalie Prinzi made five saves in net
Making the NJCAA Region III All-Tournament team from Genesee were Piper Hyde, Abby Hall, and Ava Gray. Natalie Prinzi was named Tournament MVP.
Making the All-Region team from Genesee include Player of the Year Emma Brady and Coach of the Year Jeff Reyngoudt. Brady is joined on the first team by Samantha Bates, Ava Gray, and Isabella Thom. Second team all-region honors went to Piper Hyde and Alivia Wolf. Natalie Prinzi was a third team selection.
Genesee will find out who they will play during the selection show on Tuesday, November 4th at 5pm on NJCAA Network. The 2025 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship will take place November 11-16 at Wehrum Stadium on the campus of Herkimer College.
