HENRIETTA, NY – The Genesee women's lacrosse team suffered their fourth loss on the season Tuesday afternoon, falling 20-14 to NJCAA Region III and Western New York Athletic Conference foe Monroe Community College at DiMarco Field.
The Cougars cut the Tribunes lead in half twice within the first ten minutes, but the host Tribunes pulled away. Genesee would be down as much as 10 in the second half but clawed their way back to within a half-dozen at the sound of the final horn.
Rachel Ladd led the way with five goals for the Cougars. Hannah Kirisits had four goals and an assist. Riley Marconi scored three goals. Bri Heers scored a goal and dished out four assists. Ashley Barclay scored one goal and added one assist. Ryley O'Mara made nine saves in net for Genesee.
Genesee (5-4) returns home on Thursday for Sophomore Night against Jefferson Community College. Faceoff will be at 4pm and the game will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
