Women's Basketball downs Broome
Broome, NY ... Women's basketball team grinded out a 55-49 road victory over SUNY Broome Community College on Saturday, leaning on a dominant interior presence and a resilient defensive effort. Sydney Reilly led the scoring for the Cougars with 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Jaimin Macdonald anchored the paint with a massive double-double, hauling down a game-high 17 rebounds (13 defensive) to go along with 14 points. Kiara van der Jagt added 9 points and 4 rebounds, helping Genesee overcome a tough shooting day from the perimeter. Despite SUNY Broome's efficient 92.9% shooting from the free-throw line, the Cougars' defense held the Hornets to just 21.1% shooting from the field and utilized a 41-rebound effort to maintain control and secure the win in Binghamton.
The ladies will travel to Finger Lakes to take on the Lakers on January 28th, 2025.
