Men’s Basketball Ends Season with OT Loss at Nationals

HERKIMER, NY… The #13 nationally ranked Genesee Community College men's basketball team ended their season with a 102-100 overtime loss to the Joliet Junior College Wolves in the consolation round of the 2026 NJCAA Division III men's basketball championships Friday afternoon.
It Just like the opening round win on Wednesday, the Cougars had a tale of two halves, with being down ten at intermission; Genesee outscored the Wolves 42-32 to force the extra session. But the blue and gold came up just a basket short of forcing the game to an extra overtime period.
Damani Hinks had a team-high 29 points to lead the way offensively. Hinks also collected three steals and had an assist. Izick Reaves scored 23 points, while Said Adam scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds for his third straight double-double at the National Tournament. Jerry Ortiz had 16 points, with Keysaun Murray scoring 10 points. Adonys Villafane scored four points, and Elijah Johnson scored two points.
Genesee finishes the 2025-26 season with a record of 24-9, with a 19-3 record in Region III, and earned the 2025-26 NJCAA Region III championship.
