Men’s Basketball Advances to Region III Championships

BATAVIA, NY… The #13 nationally ranked Genesee Community College men's basketball team are advancing to the NJCAA Region III men's basketball championship game after defeating the defending National Champion Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks 96-74 in the NJCAA Region III men's basketball semifinals Saturday afternoon.
Keysaun Murray had a game-high 24 points to lead the way for the blue and gold. The sophomore also collected nine rebounds and dished out four assists. Scotty Lee scored 17 points and also collected nine rebounds. Jerry Ortiz scored 12 points and collected six rebounds. Izick Reaves scored 10 points. Said Adam had nine points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Elijah Johnson scored nine off the bench, while Damani Hinks, Izayah Reaves, and Adonys Villafane all scored.
The 2026 NJCAA Region III men's basketball championship game will be played at 1pm inside the Anthony T. Zambito Gymnasium on the Batavia campus.
