Game 2:
Cougars Baseball dominated in a 14-1 blowout on Tuesday in Auburndale, fueled by a 12-hit offensive explosion and a flawless defensive performance. After a quiet first inning, the Cougars flipped the game on its head in the second, plating six runs to take a commanding 7-1 lead. Emara was the catalyst in the middle of the lineup, going 2-for-3 with a team-high three RBIs, while Yageric sparked a four-run third inning with a two-run double.
The hitting was balanced across the roster, as Emara, Rightmyer, Higgins, and Dombrowski each recorded multi-hit games. The Cougars were equally aggressive on the basepaths, swiping six total bases, including three from Rightmyer. Defensively, Genesee was perfect, committing zero errors throughout the contest, with Sherman leading the way with six successful chances in the field.
On the mound, Davey delivered a stellar start to earn the win. Over five innings of work, the hurler surrendered only three hits and one run while racking up six strikeouts. Between the shutdown pitching and the relentless run support, the Cougars cruised to an easy victory.
The guys take to the mound tomorrow at 6:00 & 8:00pm for a double header.
