Bio
Dr. Stuart Steiner served as the Genesee Community College president from
1975-2011 and was a proud member of the GCC staff since its founding in 1967.
Dr. Steiner’s impact and influence on the College and its athletics programs has
led to continued growth and success, including the addition of sports programs
and opportunities for student athletes, as well as the upgrading and creation of
the College’s athletics facilities.
A true advocate for athletics, Dr. Steiner received national recognition for
his leadership at GCC, including the New York State Phi Theta Kappa Service
Award, New York State Community College Faculty Council Distinguished Service Award, and
the honor of being named Transformational Leader in Higher Education by the W. K. Kellogg
Foundation.
