Cougars Host Jayhawks for Wednesday Night Meet

After a strong showing at the season-opening GCC Invitational, the Genesee Community College men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host Jamestown Community College at the Aquatics Center on Wednesday night.

The men's squad earned a first place finish at last weekend's invite and the women took second place.

Jurcil Chirino notched three individual victories on the men's side, winning the 50 free, 100 back and 100 fly. Nicholas DiNardo was the top finisher in the men's 500 free. The Cougars also earned four relay wins with Chirino, DiNardo, Jason Woerner, David Spink, Joseph Amico, Matthew Wolbert, John Stansbury and Jason Williams all combining in the victories.

Islalie Sylvani won the women's 100 back and 100 breast and Mia Stevens earned a first place finish in the 50 free. Sylvani, Stevens, Katelyn Nice, Morgan DeMon and Amanda Perez also helped the Cougars to four relay wins (200 medley, 200 free, 800 free and 400 free).

Both the men's and women's teams for JCC took third place at the GCC invite.
