Ft. Pierce, FL is the site of this year's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) swimming and diving national championships and seven members of the Genesee Community College men's and women's swimming and diving teams will represent the College and compete for their chance at national titles.
The foursome will team up to swim in four relay events, which includes the 400 yard medley, 400 yard freestyle, 200 yard medley and the 200 yard freestyle.
Popp will take on the field in the 500 yard freestyle and also swim in the 200 yard freestyle and 1650 yard freestyle.
Williams will vie for the 50 yard freestyle, the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle and Rudnik will compete in the 200 yard breaststroke, 200 yard IM and the 400 yard IM.
Spink will compete as the lone diver for GCC in the 1M.
Miah Stevens, Melanie Kinbaum and Sarah Kennedy all qualified at the Region III Championships and will compete on the women's side for the Cougars. The trio will all swim for the top spot in the 200 yard freestyle and Stevens will also try for the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle.
The competition kicks off on Wednesday at 1pm and will run through Saturday evening. All events will begin the day with a preliminary round with the top 24 in each event returning for the finals each night. Athletes may enter a maximum of three individual events and four relay events.
