SYRACUSE, NY: For the first time in school history the GCC men's lacrosse team will play for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Title on Sunday after the No. 4 nationally ranked Cougars upset No. 1 Nassau CC in the national semifinals on Saturday and Onondaga CC, 8-7.

Making its second consecutive final four appearance, Genesee scored the game's first goal with under two minutes to play in the opening quarter when Sherman Williams netted his first of three goals in the game off of an assist from John Jimerson.

The Cougars took advantage of a man-up situation early in the third quarter and Prince scored his second goal of the afternoon 40 seconds in to make it a 5-2 game.  NCC responded with three goals in a five-minute span to tie the score at five apiece before Pat Van Bortle put Genesee back in front 6-5 with his lone goal of the game at the 4:51 mark.

Nassau tied the game with 18 seconds left in the third quarter and took its first lead of the game late in the fourth with a goal at 5:31.
