The Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team will end its 2014 regular season on Saturday when the Cougars travel to Finger Lakes Community College to take on the Lakers.
Genesee (4-8) was forced to forfeit four wins this week due to an NJCAA violation that occurred earlier this season. Wins against Monroe Community College, Hudson Valley Community College, Niagara County Community College and Mohawk Valley Community College were forfeited.
Finger Lakes (8-7) has lost three of its last four games and had its Apr. 15 game against Jefferson Community College postponed.
Last time out:
Genesee rolled on the road at Broome Community College on Wednesday, 21-7. Dana Ray led the way with eight goals and two assists. Mark Pucek and Craig Seneca combined to make 14 saves in net and the Cougars were plus-20 in ground balls.
Finger Lakes had its game against Jefferson CC postponed on Apr. 15. Previous, the Lakers fell to No. 7 SUNY Delhi on the road, 19-9 on Apr. 13.
What to watch for:
Genesee is currently riding a two-game winning streak.
Saturday will mark just the second home game of the season for FLCC. The Lakers are 1-0 in their only home contest.
FLCC attack Matt Miller leads the NJCAA in goals this season with 54 and attack Matt Scharr leads the NJCAA in assists with 60.
