BATAVIA, NY… Swimmers Ferran Martinez and Libby Richardson were named Genesee Athletes of the Week for the week of February 18.
Ferran Martinez was the co-male swimmer of the meet during this past weekend’s NJCAA Region 3/Northeast District Championships. Martinez won the 400 IM, 200 IM, 200 Fly, and was on the relay team that won the 400 relay. The men’s team were the Region 3 runner ups at the Championship meet.
Elizabeth Richardson won the 200IM and placed third in the 200 Free during this past weekend’s NJCAA Region 3/Northeast District Championships hosted at Monroe Community College. Richardson also finished third in the 200 Backstroke. The women’s team finished fifth in the Region 3 Championship meet. This is the third time that Libby has earned Female Athlete of the Week honors.
The swimming and diving team will now start to prepare for the NJCAA Swimming and Diving National Championships March 6-9 in Buffalo, NY. The National Championships will take place inside the Burt Flickinger Center in Downtown Buffalo.
