The National Junior College Athletic Association released its weekly players of the week with a pair of Cougars receiving the top accolades as last week's best in the NJCAA.
Sophomore Jaclyn Guzdek has been a wall of defense for the women's soccer team in helping them improve their national ranking this week to No. 6. The sophomore keeper allowed just a single goal last week while making a half-dozen saves in a pair of wins that extended the team's win streak to six.
Freshman Rodrigo Albuquerque recorded a seven-point performance in his lone action of the week against Jefferson that kept him in the nation's top NJCAA scorers in goals and points.
The pair brings the number of Cougar athletes to receive national player of the week recognitions to four this fall with Katline Cartwright earning the top honor last week and Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto doing the same the week before that.
