The men's and women's soccer teams were successful last week and were undefeated in regulation play through three contests. The women's team remained undefeated at 3-0 with a 3-1 win over Mohawk Valley Community College, while the No. 3-ranked men's team went 1-1 with a 3-0 win over Nassau Community College and a 2-1 double-overtime loss to No. 2-ranked Camden County College. All three contests were played between Sept. 2 and Sept. 3.
Leading the women's team was Leah Herman. She scored a pair of goals including the game winner against Mohawk Valley Community College Sept. 2, with both goals coming less than 90 seconds apart of the first half in the Cougars' home-opener and first game against a Region III opponent this season.
Leading the men's team was Glenn Holmes. He led the men's soccer team to its first win of the season with a goal and solid defensive play in helping the Cougars obtain a road-shutout win over Region XV opponent Nassau Community College, Sept. 2. The sophomore captain was then instrumental in keeping No. 2-ranked Camden County College(Region XIX) to just a single regulation goal and assisted on the Cougars' tying-goal in a double-overtime game the following day.
